

Hi, I am Dr. James Doman. I am a Lancaster County native; I grew up in Lancaster City and graduated from Millersville University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. I joined the NVC team in 1976. My special interests include dentistry, cancer treatment, allergy treatment and “pocket” pets like rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs.
My wife, Dawn, and I have 2 grown children; 2 miniature Dachshunds – , Bernie and Daphne, an old gentleman cat, “Roosevelt”, and “Quincy”, a Ragdoll-Himalayan mix. To keep healthy and in shape, I swim laps at the YMCA. In my spare time I enjoy spending time in our yard and garden, volunteering for our church, and golfing.

Hi, I am Dr. George Nyland. I was born in the little community of Jefferson, in northeast Ohio and raised on a dairy farm. I participated in 4-H, played in Little League, and all the high school sports. I graduated from the Ohio State University Veterinary School in 1968 and practiced veterinary medicine both in Wernersville, PA and in North Hills Pittsburgh, PA prior to joining my brother, Dr. Russel Nyland and the Neffsville Veterinary Clinic in 1972.
My special interests at the clinic include medicine, orthopedic surgery and interacting with clients and patients.
My wife, Marilyn and I have two children: Craig who works at Y&S Candies and Dr. Kathy Nyland who is my associate at Neffsville Veterinary Clinic. We enjoy our three cats, Sweetie, Ben, and Charlie, and also a Boston Terrier Lilly who has a lot of panache. When I am not at work, I spend my time working in our yard, wood working, photography, and going to our cabin.

Hi, I am Dr. Andrew Sloyer. I have been with Neffsville Veterinary Clinic since May of 2000. I graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine. I practiced in Gilbertsville, PA, prior to joining the Neffsville Veterinary Clinic team.
My special interests include ultrasonography, dermatology, and orthopedic surgery.
My wife, Kristina and I have 2 sons, Clark and William; a yellow lab – Haley, a terrier – Isabelle, and 3 cats – Trevor, Linus and Lucy.

I’m Dr. Nicole Blithe. I attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) for my undergraduate studies. I earned a bachelor of science in Animal and Poultry Science with an emphasis in Biotechnology. After graduation, I worked at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as an intern for two years in a surgical lab. I graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech and joined the Neffsville Veterinary Clinic Team in 2004.
My special interests include internal medicine, geriatric feline medicine and ultrasound.
My “crew” of pets includes 4 cats named Jack, Holly, Random Chance, and Belle. In my spare time, I enjoy working out at the gym, cooking, working on my house, shopping and watching Virginia Tech football. Go Hokies!

Hi, I’m Dr. Amanda Rouen and I joined the Neffsville Veterinary Clinic in 2007. I attended Pennsylvania State University where I studied in the Schreyer Honors College, and graduated with honors in Animal Bioscience. I received my degree in veterinary medicine from The University of Pennsylvania in 2002. After practicing small animal medicine in Reading, PA for 5 years, I joined the Neffsville Veterinary Clinic in 2007.
I enjoy all aspects of practicing small animal medicine and surgery and have an interest in canine and feline dentistry, feline medicine, and am the champion for senior wellness. I have 7 years of experience using the laser for surgical procedures, and completed an additional training course at a 2008 veterinary conference. I attend annual veterinary meetings for continuing education in small animal medicine and surgery.
I live in Leola with my husband Seth and my son Evan. We have Timber, and two orange cats named Cozmo and Newman. In my free time I enjoy bike riding and indoor spin classes, scrapbooking, reading, and working on outdoor projects.

Hi, I am Dr. Kathleen Nyland. I was born in Ohio, but grew up in Lancaster. I attended both Wake Forest and Ohio State for my undergraduate studies. I received my veterinary degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, I completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a specialty practice in Connecticut.
In 1995 I joined my father, Dr. ”George” and uncle Dr. “Russel” here at Neffsville Veterinary Clinic. I enjoy all aspects of practicing veterinary medicine, from working with clients and patients in the exam rooms to performing surgeries and ultrasound. Being able to relieve suffering is extremely rewarding.
My pets include a Jack Russel Terrier named Lexie, a Yellow Lab – Gibson, Siamese cat – Manny and our newest cat, Roady.

Hi, I am Dr. Klint Hockenberry. I grew up outside of Harrisburg in the small town of Lewisberry. I attended both Ursinus College and Juniata College while completing my undergraduate studies. I received my veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 2010. I was chosen from my graduating class to receive the “Excellence in Theriogenology” Award. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery but have a profound interest in theriogenology (reproduction), cardiac medicine, and dermatology.
My outside interests include exercise and athletics, fishing, carpentry, and barbequing. Outside of veterinary medicine my most memorable life experience has been my time spent working on deep-sea fishing boats in Sarasota, Florida.
Due to how time-consuming veterinary school had been, I do not have any pets at the time I’m writing this, but it is most likely that by the time you have read this I will have acquired more than a few! Feel free to ask me about them.
